The Cork Climathon was hosted by the Environmental Research Institute, UCC and Energy Cork in partnership with the IERC, Ignite UCC, Blackstone LaunchPad UCC, Taste Cork and Cork City Council on the 28th October 2016.
The Climathon was a global 24 hour hackathon focused on finding practical solutions to specific local climate change challenges. Climathon brought together the challenges of the world’s cities with people who have the passion to solve them. The Irish Green Building Council, as part of Ireland’s National Renovation Strategy, hosted a Build Upon workshop in the International Energy Research Centre, Tyndall National Institute, Cork on the 29thSeptember 2016. The aim of the workshop was to explore the 10 actions suggested in the “Declaration in 10 points for a better national renovation strategy and an effective implementation plan“, as well as opportunities and challenges around them.
