Dr Sue Paterson MBE is an oil and gas professional with many years of UK and international experience. She has executive leadership experience in a FTSE-100 corporate setting and has worked with companies to develop business strategies, support change management programmes and improve business performance. She is currently involved in helping deliver the transition to the low carbon economy in Scotland.
Sue is a qualified IOD Chartered Director with over 15 years of Non-Executive Director experience in the private, public and voluntary sectors, including Board Chair. She received an MBE in the 2020 New Year honours for services to the community in Northeast Scotland.
Sue holds a degree in Physics from Imperial College, London and a PhD in Marine Geophysics from Cambridge University, as well as a Post-Graduate Certificate in Sustainability in Business from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
She is fascinated by neuroscience as a basis for understanding and supporting people in the world of work, and how this can improve business performance. Together with Paul Brown and Joan Kingsley, Sue is the co-author of “The Fear Free Organization: Vital Insights from Neuroscience to Transform Your Business Culture” which was published by Kogan Page in 2015.
