We are inviting expressions of interest to join the Advisory Board of the Project: Policy innovation to solve the split-incentive issue in multisectoral rented buildings – Polinreb.
About the Project
Polinreb aims to gain expert knowledge on the specific conditions that may favour the successful deployment and uptake of energy efficiency measures across different typologies of rented buildings and homes, with a strong focus on Irish market conditions.
The project engages private stakeholders in Ireland through a survey and focus groups to identify key challenges and opportunities to support a greater uptake of energy efficiency upgrades in rented buildings.
Project Objectives
- Improve current supports
To determine how existing financial and non-financial supports can be improved to better address the needs of landlords, tenants and the rented sector in Ireland. - Develop flexible green lease templates tailored to Ireland
To design a flexible green lease template adapted to Irish market conditions that helps overcome the split-incentive issue and enhances energy efficiency across rented properties.

The Advisory Board will play a key role in ensuring the project’s outputs are practical, market-relevant, and capable of delivering real impact across Ireland’s rented sector.
