Dr Mohammad Shadnam

Post Doctoral Researcher

Dr Shadnam joined the IERC in February 2024, bringing his expertise in power electronics, electric vehicle chargers, and renewable energy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Azerbaijan Shahid Madani University, Tabriz, Iran, and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics and systems from the University of Tabriz, Tabriz, Iran. In February 2023, he also earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics and Drives from the Iran University of Science and Technology.

Before joining IERC, Dr. Shadnam served as an R&D researcher at the Electric Vehicle Center, Niroo Research Institute, in Tehran, Iran. During this time, he focused on electric vehicle charging infrastructures, electric vehicle standards and testing, and power quality problems. His research contributions have been published in reputable journals and presented at conferences.

With a comprehensive background spanning 6 years, Dr. Shadnam has gained valuable experience in power electronics, electric vehicles, power quality, and renewable energy. Currently, as a postdoctoral researcher at IERC, he is actively involved in the FET-EV research project, contributing to advancements in the field.

Dr. Shadnam’s dedication to his work and his notable presence in the academic and industrial sectors make him a valuable asset to the IERC team.

FET-EV

FET-EV aims to leverage the integration of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) to the Irish smart grid network at a very low cost but with ultra-high fast charging facilities and thus will accelerate the market uptake of BEVs and charging fleets.
