Samaneh Fakouriyan

Research Engineer

Samaneh Fakouriyan joined the International Energy Research Centre (IERC) in 2022 and is currently a Research Engineer within the Energy in Buildings theme. Her research focuses on building energy simulation and the integration of renewable energy technologies to evaluate and improve the energy performance of buildings. She contributes to European research and innovation projects in the field of sustainable and energy-efficient buildings.

Before joining IERC, she worked at leading energy research institutes in Iran, where she contributed to national projects on energy systems modelling, energy demand forecasting, provincial energy balance development, national energy outlook studies, and industrial energy efficiency assessment.

She received her Master’s degree in Energy Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Iran, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Renewable Energy Systems. Her doctoral research investigates the use of radiative cooling technologies to enhance the performance of photovoltaic systems through numerical modelling and experimental validation.

Her research interests include building performance simulation, renewable energy technologies, particularly photovoltaic systems, and radiative cooling.

MiniStor (H2020)

Minimal Size Thermal and Electrical Energy Storage System for In-Situ Residential Installation is a 54 months long project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme to offer a sustainable solution to harness the energy efficiency potential of the European building stock.
