Dr. Sumit became a part of IERC in January 2024, contributing his expertise to the areas of energy management, distribution systems, and the electricity market. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Engineering from the Malaviya National Institute of Technology in Jaipur, India and Bachelor and Master of Engineering both in Electrical Engineering from Gujarat University India.
Prior to joining IERC, Sumit served as a visiting researcher at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, UAE. During this period, he collaborated with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, focusing on shared autonomous electric vehicle scheduling within power and transport networks. With a distinguished career, Sumit is recognized as an IEEE Senior member and has a notable presence in reputable journals and conferences. His comprehensive background spans 7 years, encompassing both academic and industrial experiences in electric power systems, microgrids, electric vehicles, and energy management.
Currently, Sumit’s role at IERC as a postdoctoral researcher, working on the Enerflex research project.
